Icon of the yéyé years in France, Sheila became a popular star upon the release of her second 45 rpm in 1963, "L'école est finie". It ranks No. 1 in France thanks to the title "Papa t'es plus dans le coup". 

From 1977, her career became international during her disco period, during which she collaborated notably with Nile Rodgers and the group Chic in 1980, then with Keith Olsen in 1981.

At the beginning of 1980 "Spacer" became an international success, ranking 1st in several countries.
