How to play guitar accompaniments and solos in the Jazz Bebop style? With this work of course ... On the one hand, the rhythmic, ternary, fast and medium swing, characteristics of the bebop Jazz guitar. The rhythmic movements, very syncopated and in “block chords”, as well as the main harmonic progressions (blues / jazz, rhythm changes, etc ...) used in the style are evoked there. On the other hand, 100% Bebop guitar solos, with all the technical, rhythmic and melodic processes specific to the style (syncopated playing, phrasing and accentuations, octave playing, arpeggio substitutions, diminished scale ...). From Charlie Parker to Miles Davis, via Wes Montgomery, Clifford Brown or even Dizzy Gillespie ... there are no shortage of sources of inspiration to evoke this style which revolutionized Jazz! For each accompaniment and solo, five different recordings are available on the attached MP3 CD, distributed as follows: the guitar alone, at normal tempo then slowed down, the same guitar part played this time on its playback, and finally the backing only , again at normal tempo then slowed down ... to allow everyone to learn and play at their own pace, according to their level and abilities. That is more than 4 hours of music in all!
