"In Spirit" is Claude Tchamitchian's new solo, the third in the career of this exceptional bass player, an important step in the thinking of this composer who here uses Jean-François Jenny Clark's instrument. 

"In Spirit" offers music that is both deep and luminous, dense and lipid, intimate and intense, delicate and mysterious, singular and familiar.  

« In Spirit » is my third solo work. One of the important points of its structure/organization was the open tuning/scordatura I have achieved. Whereas that of the double bass is E/A/D/G.
This new temperament allowed me to imagine and liberate a whole new harmonic world, as well as a new playing technique where several of various elements would have been impossible to reproduce on a conventional instrument.
