Jo Privat is the Parisian accordionist, who has for many years been the leading light of the Mecca of accordion dance music, “Le BALAJO”. For young accordionists, the “Great Jo” is a reference in terms of interpretation and stage appearance. For the older generation, the “National Jo” brings back many memories, particularly with respect to his great friendship with Django Reinhardt. Jo Privat has lived for many years without ever giving up his instrument. He has had the privilege of working alongside the greatest accordionists of the older generation. His compositions are still in the repertoires of a large number of accordionists and in the teaching manuals used by music teachers, both in France and in other countries.
