Alexandre Tharaud, is a French pianist. At the initiative of his parents, he began studying the piano at the age of five.
Alexandre Tharaud has received several awards for his recordings, including the Grand Prix de l'Académie Charles-Cros for his interpretation of the works of Francis Poulenc (1997), then for that of the works of Maurice Ravel (2003). In 2012 he was instrumental soloist of the year at the Victoires de la Musique Classique and in 2013, he was awarded the Victory for Recording of the Year, as a reward for his CD "Le Bœuf sur le Toit". On February 23, 2021, he received a new Victoire de la Musique Classique, Instrumental Soloist category
