Bruno Lorenzoni wrote his first musical composition at the age of 8, and he was accredited as a composer by being admitted to the SACEM (the French equivalent of the Performing Rights Society) at the age of 16 years. He completed his musical education by studying harmony, counterpoint and fugue, and won two major music prizes, that of the King of Belgium and the President of the French Republic’s prize. He also won the Paris Worl competition. Bruno Lorenzoni is a figurehead of accordion playing. He plays with energy and elation. He is a perfectionist in his work, without being punctilious. There is a sort of searing intensity in his playing; the accordion becomes an outlet for his emotions !
