Claude Barbottin was admitted to the SACEM (=PRS) as a composer in 1955. He plays several instruments: accordion, bandoneon, and flute, and he won successively the first prizes in the Limousin and Pays Nantais competitions, to name but two. Claude Barbottin is at ease with all types of music, for example rhythmic numbers like “La Chocolata” or romantic slow ballads like “Ballade pour une poupée” (Ballad for a Doll). His compositions are full of emotion and sensitivity.
