Jean-Marc Torchy can play everything from classical music to light dance music, and including all types of folk music. He has worked with Marcel Azzola and Joël Rossi; the latter taught him about chromatic bass lines and the classical repertory. Winner of the President of the French Republic’s prize and the World Cup in Hamburg, Jean-Marc Torchy has become famous as a concert musician. With the Quatuor Chevalier (Chevalier Quartet) he has been a part of the appearance of the accordion on the classical music scene. He is also a qualified music teacher in the French educational system, besides teaching in music schools and composing.
